In a landmark effort to elevate digital literacy among the youth in Sindh, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has introduced a scholarship program that will provide 1,000 Google Career Certificates to students across 10 public universities in the province.

This initiative, announced on Friday, marks a significant step forward in enhancing the career prospects of local graduates within the rapidly growing tech industry.

The program was officially launched through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Universities & Boards Department and Tech Valley. This collaboration aims to streamline the distribution of these prestigious certificates among students enrolled in Sindh’s public universities.

A key highlight of the program is its commitment to gender equality, with 50% of the scholarships specifically reserved for female students. This partnership between the government, educational institutions, and the tech sector reflects a unified effort to close the digital skills gap and equip Sindh’s youth with the tools needed for success in the modern job market.

During the MoU signing ceremony, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah highlighted the pivotal role of Information Technology (IT) in today’s employment landscape. He stressed that mastering IT skills is essential for youth who aspire to thrive in the digital economy. The IT sector provides a vast range of opportunities, enabling individuals to pursue rewarding careers, often from the comfort of their homes.

The scholarship program is designed to provide students with internationally recognized IT certifications, which will enhance their global competitiveness. By offering access to these valuable credentials, the initiative aims to empower Sindh’s youth not only to secure meaningful employment but also to contribute actively to the nation’s technological progress.
