Dubai mum appointed National Goodwill Ambassador for Girls Education by Pakistan

A Dubai-based mother and Pakistan’s leading female mountaineer, Naila Kiani, has been appointed National Goodwill Ambassador for Girls’ Education by the Ministry of Federal Education and Vocational Training in Pakistan.

Overcome adversity
Naila Kiani faced significant barriers to accessing quality education throughout her upbringing. She worked full-time night shifts to finance her university education, demonstrating resilience and determination. Despite these challenges, she excelled academically, earning degrees in aerospace engineering and banking.

Advocating for early education
Kiani strongly believes that early education empowers girls, allowing them to make meaningful contributions to their families, communities and nation. As a Goodwill Ambassador, her responsibilities include:

Mountain climbing achievements
Naila Kiani’s achievements in mountaineering are equally impressive:

  • Record climber: the only Pakistani woman and the third Pakistani to climb 11 of the world’s 14 highest peaks above 8,000 meters.
  • Speed ​​Climbing: The only Pakistani to climb seven peaks above 8,000 meters in less than six months, achieving this feat in 2023.
  • Fastest Climber: Fastest Pakistani to climb all eleven 8,000 meter peaks in less than three years.
  • Sitara-i-Imtiaz Recipient: The only female athlete to receive Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Pakistan’s highest civilian award for athletes.
